Family History Writing Forum - Find Your Motivation

This week marked the end of The Family History Writing Challenge, I want to take this opportunity to say Thank You to all who participated especially the 160 members who signed up and our guest authors.

Many of you found success during The Challenge and are now on your way to completing your family history story. However, just because The Challenge is over certainly does mean we are done writing. Many of us still have plenty of work ahead.

One of the greatest accomplishments of The Challenge; it brought together a community of family history writers within the genealogy community. One of the greatest difficulties in writing is feeling like you are out there on your own trying to figure it all out. Perhaps you have lost your motivation, and need some encouragement. The Forum served as wonderful support group for those us struggling through our family history writing challenges.

The Family History Writing Forum provided an opportunity for family history writers to share their successes and struggles, exchange ideas and learn from one another in a safe and respectful environment.

Presently, we are 60 members strong in the forum, and it has accumulated over 450 posts throughout the month of the Challenge. The range of experience in members of the forum includes the newest of writers to those who have already published. We are all learning from each other.  It has and continues to serve as a wonderful resource to aid in your own family history writing journey.

The Family History Writing Forum is now open to all members of the genealogical community who wish to be a part of this writer’s group. You do not have to be a participant of The Challenge to join.

In addition, The Family History Writing Challenge website will also remain up and accessible. There is a great deal of writing resources available on the website to aid you in your storytelling.

Click on this link Family History Writing Forum, or in the tabs above and you will be immediately directed to the Forum. A simple registration is required. An email will be sent to me for approval. Once approved you’re good to go.

Feel free to introduce yourself, and then read through the numerous posts and see what we have been discussing over the past month. Add to any of the discussions or start a discussion by clicking on start a topic.

You will receive emails when new topics and conversations have been posted so it is very easy to follow along.

Please consider joining us in the The Family History Writing Forum with your fellow family history storytellers and find your motivation through community.
