A Quebec Genealogy Conference for English Speaking Researchers

I recently received an email from a new reader named Gail who shared with me some information about a conference that was not on The 2011 Genealogy Conference List.  I am so excited by this conference. First it's in Canada, secondly it's in one of my favourite cities, Montreal and thirdly it addresses a large component of my family history research French Canada.

This conference addresses not only French Canadian research but Irish, Scottish and Welsh, all ancestors who came to Quebec.

If you still have time to add one more conference this summer then this should be the one. This conference only comes around every 5 years, which is a shame. To me this sounds like the must attend conference if you have ancestors who arrived in Quebec. I am in fact half French Canadian. My mother comes from a long line of French Canadians dating back 10 generations to  some of the earliest settlers.

Don't speak French, no worries. This event will be the largest English-language genealogical conference ever held in Quebec. There will be numerous well-known speakers discussing all aspects of family history research, computer demonstrations, and a book fair. All lectures and events are in English.

Date:        June 3, 4, and 5, 2011
Place:      McGill University, Montreal, Quebec
