A Summer Reading List Not Shaded Grey

Those of you who follow this blog know my love of books and reading. Every year about this time I share my summer reading list. It’s a yearly ritual for me to create a list of books I hope to accomplish during the summer. It’s not that I don’t read the rest of the year, it’s just summertime reading takes on an entirely special meaning. For me there is nothing more relaxing then a summer evening on the patio with a good book, or a Sunday afternoon, a comfy chair, a tall cool drink and of course a great book. Summer means a little more down time and for me that results in reading.

So here I am again, compiling my list of summer reads. I’ve got a list started but it’s not complete and I’m looking for suggestions. Yeah I know the hot book this summer is 50 Shades of Grey, while I am intrigued by it's popularity I'm not sure it's my kind of book.

So far I have a few that have been waiting in the queue, a few classics I’ve never read and a couple of non-fictions for the list. I’m still looking for a great historical fiction and a family narrative. Maybe you can help me, if you've got a good book you think I might like to add to my summer reading list let me know in comments. Share what’s on your summer reading list.

My list this year includes a couple of classics, I’m trying to fit in all the ones I didn’t read in my youth. This summer’s classics include:

A Moveable Feast  by Ernest Hemingway

The Great Gatsby  by F.Scott Fitzgerald

A couple of non-fiction books on the list

The $100 Startup: Reinvent the Way You Make a Living, Do What You Love, and Create a New Future by Chris Guillibeau. I been following him online and I’m looking forward to reading this book.

Tracing Your Irish Ancestors: The Complete Guide. Fourth Edition
by John Grenham

Imagine: How Creativity Works by Jonah Lehrer

So let me know what else should I add to my list, and fess up is Fifty Shades of Grey on your summer reading list?
