Far too often in genealogy we get caught up in the stories of our ancestors, although important, we tend to overlook the fact that our ancestor's stories are not the only tales that rise from our family history research. Our own journey of discovering our family history is a very important narration. We tend to forget to record our own journey into genealogy and its result of self-discovery. It's time for our own stories to take their place in the spotlight.
My Invitation to You
In order to continue my mission of encouraging writing family history, this will provide me with an opportunity to feature one wonderful family history storyteller and spotlight them on this blog. This is a great opportunity for you to practice your storytelling skills, bond with the genealogy community and share your story with an audience. This is open to all genealogists, professionals, amateurs and everyone in between. You do not have to be a writer, author or even a blogger.
If your story is chosen, you will receive an email from me, letting you know when your story will be published and requesting further bio information. This will prove to be a great opportunity to expose your own blog. If you don’t have a blog this exercise might provide you with the confidence needed to take your writing to the next level, whether that is a blog or a book or both. Or perhaps your writing a family history book and would like give us a glimpse into your journey.
How will I choose?
