Ontario Roman Catholic Church Records - Now Online

A significant number of Roman Catholic Church Records for the province of Ontario has recently been added to FamilySearch website.

As of January 2012, 126,534 records for the Roman Catholic Church for 1760-1923 for what was then known as Upper Canada and Canada West are now available for viewing.

Within the collection you can find baptisms, marriages, deaths and some confirmation records. These records are not indexed but are sorted by county, city/town, and churches.

I personally was quite successful with my own research search this collection.

To find these records enter through the

All records collection link-Canada-Ontario

The records are sorted by the following counties.

  1. Lynn, this is wonderful news! This will hopefully remove a roadblock that I was just fretting over only this afternoon! Can't wait to see what they have on my Tully family in Paris Village, Brant county! Thanks for the heads-up.

  3. Thank you for telling us! I'm wondering if indexing these records is available. I have lots of family in Carleton Co.

  4. Thanks for posting this! I stumbled across it while googling information on Catholic records in Renfrew county. On a long shot, I had a peek around and found the baptisms of my gggrandfather and his siblings! They were only listed as Catholic in one census, and afterwords were listed variously as Presbyterian, Methodist, Christian or Baptist.

    Thanks again!
    Jenn ;)
